The fourth installment of the Color of series, "COLOR OF SEOUL," has begun. For photographing Seoul, I chose Canon. And deliberately, I opted for a lightweight system weighing around 1kg, rather than relying solely on L-series lenses. This time, I'll discuss my equipment selection and why Seoul was the right choice now. [About COLOR OF SEOUL] This is the second overseas installment in the Color of series, following Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Kansai. I'm going to Seoul, a city built from scratch 70 years after the war, to capture its sense of openness and ever-changing energy using Canon's colors. My goal is a solo exhibition at the Canon Gallery. I'll be traveling to Korea in mid-June for research purposes, in preparation for the open call for submissions planned for this summer. Whether I'll be accepted or rejected remains to be seen, but I'll give it my all, so I'd appreciate your support. [Equipment Used] *The equipment used in this video was borrowed from Canon. ■Camera Canon EOS R6 Mark III (Main | Approx. 690g, Approx. 30 million pixels) Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III (Sub-compact camera | 1-inch sensor, 24-100mm equivalent F1.8-2.8) ■Lenses RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM (Main | Approx. 390g | Star lens for daytime snapshots) RF45mm F1.2 (For nighttime and neon | Approx. 346g, Retail price around 60,000 yen | Even the bokeh and chromatic aberration at wide open aperture add to the appeal) RF20-50mm F4 L (Backup | Approx. 418g | For situations where you want even richer colors) The R6 Mark III + RF24-105 weighs approximately 1080g, and even with the RF20-50 F4 L added, it's around 1100g. This fits within the "under 1.2kg system" that I always advocate. [Why this configuration?] The Color of Series primarily uses Canon cameras, with the 24-105mm as the main lens. This time, I deliberately avoided using only L-series lenses, instead prioritizing lightness by focusing on the silver-banded (non-L-series) lenses. The only exception is the RF20-50mm F4 L, brought along as a backup for situations where I want the unique color gradation characteristic of L-series lenses.
