Canon S100 lens error

Short review of Canon S100 and what not to do if you have lens error. I did not succeed to fix camera by myself even I expected that if unconnected cable is issue there will be no problems. Did not find anything like broken gear or sand particles stuck in lens barrels, everything was clean. Components like stepper motors are so tiny and wires of coils are so tiny that I guess easily something can die, probably big load for so tiny motors. I guess that is price (to high price, I have used it only 2.5 months) for such a compact camera with such good picture and video capability. I am not professional servicer for cameras but from experience that I have with Sony camcorder where also tiny stepper motor died (that Sony was sent to professionals) I am pretty sure that here is same problem. Inside camera there is 4 motors totally, two DC motors (the biggest is for retracting photo lens, other one is for engaging flash which I did not ever use, because camera makes super pictures even in low light conditions) , other two motors are inside of lens module, one operates with lens that is directly over sensor, and the smaller one operates aperture of camera over so tiny brass gear (really unbelievable ). There is also one lens in the middle which is on suspension and probably is involved for focusing picture, tiny coils can move it in various direction. Such a great camera but I am totally disappointed with a such short life :( My advice, if you gonna buy it definitely buy one with warranty and extend it if it is possible.
