SEPTA Facing 45% CUTS – Will Philly Riders Be Left Stranded?

Philadelphia's transit agency SEPTA is currently slated to have it's budget nearly cut in half amidst issues passing a new state budget in the state of Pennsylvania. This would have massive ramifications for the system, some of which would begin to take effect as early as August ranging from nearly 50 bus routes being cut, rail services ending at 9pm, 5 commuter rail routes (including the one with the highest ridership) being cancelled, as well as fare increased. But is all hope lost? This week Louis (Chris was out this week, but will be back in the next episode!) was fortunate enough to be joined by Steve from How We Get Around (‪@SteveGettingAroundPhilly‬). Steve has been covering these cuts in detail on his channel for a while now, so we figured he would be the perfect guest to get us up to speed on what's happening, how we're in this situation, and the different paths to making sure SEPTA can continue to provide reliable service for folks in Philly.
