Les Albinos chez les Bamiléké : Ce que la tradition dit vraiment

Who are people with albinism, really? For generations, they have been surrounded by beliefs that portray them sometimes as beings endowed with special powers, sometimes as cursed or bringers of misfortune. But what does tradition actually say? And what does science tell us? Through the example of the Bamileke people of Cameroon, this documentary explores the origins of these beliefs, the prejudices they perpetuate, and the consequences they have on the lives of thousands of people: rejection, discrimination, mockery, and exclusion. Our goal is not to judge a culture, but to distinguish authentic tradition from preconceived notions, in order to promote a society where knowledge replaces fear, where respect prevails over prejudice, and where every human being is recognized in their full dignity. A powerful documentary to understand, deconstruct myths, and say no to hatred towards people with albinism.
