A beautiful sturgeon is the catch that immediately kicks off a new carp fishing lesson, led (of course) by our favorite captain! We're meeting at the Barcaccia quarry, Rome. And even if the weather isn't promising, the fishing conditions are truly perfect for a spot of carp fishing! The first sturgeon of the day is a sign that Roberto Ripamonti's "METHOD" approach is working, and so we begin, right away, with a very interesting digression regarding the concept of the "lost lead," a very useful strategy when used on "large prey," and there are several obstacles on the bottom! As already mentioned, in this episode we will mainly talk about "METHOD," an approach that is successful when setting up short sessions to achieve immediate results! Roberto will describe everything you need to know to implement a "marginal method" approach (i.e., a method close to the bank!). The perfect hair rig will be the "knotless, internal line" one created with fluorocarbon, preferable to braided lines in waters with heavy fishing pressure! The "marginal" fishing action requires positioning the bait a few meters from the rod pod (an approach almost always successful when it comes to carp fishing), and allows for localized and precise baiting.
