Mother Language Voices Across the world

United Nations designated 21st February of every year as International Mother Language Day. This was approved at the 1999 UNESCO General Conference and has been observed throughout the world since 2000. In his 2026 message, Khaled El-Enany, the Director-General of UNESCO calls for “investment in language transmission by placing young people at the heart of the solutions involved.” Also, he declared that “linguistic diversity is a pillar of peace, dignity and inclusion, therefore, no voice should be missing from the story of our humanity.” To join in this year’s celebration, CultureTude with Dr Neqi, has collated different Mother languages across the world to support inclusion and celebrate diverse voices.
