The second tells the story of a Kazakh soldier who saved a Russian soldier during the Great Patriotic War and accepted him into his family after the war. Experts analyze how Kazakhstan is addressing the challenge of uniting its diverse population: three zhuzes (tribal associations of Kazakhs), millions of people of Slavic descent, Volga Germans, and the descendants of those repressed. To this end, a special ethnonym, "Kazakhstanis," was created to encompass all citizens of the country, regardless of ethnic origin. Particular attention is given to the Bolashak program, which has existed since 1993. Under the program, Kazakhstan's best students are annually educated at leading global universities with the obligation to subsequently work for the state. This has created a talent pool of approximately half a million highly qualified specialists, fluent in several languages ​​and with international connections. Speakers emphasize Kazakhstan's expansive policy aimed at strengthening its influence in Russia's neighboring territories—the Orenburg and Astrakhan regions—and creating a "corridor" to Bashkortostan. At the same time, Kazakhstan does not formally engage in anti-Russian rhetoric, acting exclusively through cultural, educational, and demographic policies. A comparison is made with Ukraine, where, according to experts, systematic efforts to form a unified nation have not been implemented in 30 years of independence. The lack of state support for the Ukrainian diaspora abroad (more than 2 million Ukrainians in Russia, millions more in historical Ukrainian lands—the "green wedge" and "gray wedge")—and the failure to utilize cultural and historical potential to create unifying narratives are noted. The discussion touches on demographic indicators: since 1991, Kazakhstan's population has doubled, while Ukraine's has declined from 52 million to a projected 25 million by 2050. This is seen as the result of systemic government policy. Experts conclude that the lack of targeted national consolidation creates vulnerability to external interference and information manipulation, which are used to fuel internal conflicts.
