La voce del vulcano
It is truly difficult to explain the power of a volcano. A longtime resident of the island of Stromboli, two archaeologists, and a volcanologist tell the story of a place where, every day, all year round, and for millennia, an extraordinary open-air spectacle has been unfolding: the continuous flow of explosive eruptions from one of the few volcanoes in the world that humans can admire up close. Three volcanological guides accompany us to the craters, each following a different path and describing their personal relationship with Iddu—Him, the Volcano. Unseen and evocative images reveal the island’s primal nature, the portraits of its silent inhabitants, and the unstoppable force of volcanic activity. Everything leaves one speechless, with an indescribable emotion and the unforgettable memory of a thunderous sound rising from the depths of the Earth—the Voice of the Volcano.
