High above Eisenach in western Thuringia stands the Wartburg, one of Germany's most famous castles. It was here that Martin Luther translated the New Testament and where the medieval singing contest featured in Wagner's opera Tannhäuser supposedly took place. Our architectural designer Martin recreated the Wartburg using 3,167 bricks. The complex model depicts the castle's many wall angles, bay windows, and contour lines in great detail. This set follows in the tradition of our models of Eltz Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle.
