Delhi Police shifted climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest site to Safdarjung Hospital early on Saturday morning. Wangchuk had been on an indefinite hunger strike since May 28. According to a report by The Indian Express, the police action was carefully planned as “Operation 30 Seconds”. Around 100 police personnel were reportedly briefed about a three-layer security plan involving phone jammers, white sheets, a charge team and an ambulance stationed nearby.
