Wednesday Night Bible Study | Reigning in Life Training Center Tonight, Pastor Curtis Riley continues the teaching “The Body of Christ and the Church” — Part 2, building upon Sunday’s message concerning the true identity, position, purpose, and authority of the Church. The Church is not merely a building, denomination, or weekly gathering. We are the Body of Christ in the earth. Jesus is the Head, and every born-again believer is a member of His Body. Though we are many members with different assignments, gifts, functions, and responsibilities, we are one Body under one Head—Jesus Christ. In this Bible study, we continue going deeper into what it means to live from our position in Christ instead of allowing circumstances, feelings, fear, or the natural realm to define us. Jesus said: “Upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” — Matthew 16:18 The Church has been given Kingdom authority. Jesus has given His Body the keys of the Kingdom—the authority to bind and loose, forbid and permit, release the Word of God, and exercise His authority in the earth. In this study: 🔹 The Church Is the Body of Christ Jesus is the Head, and believers are His members. Ephesians 1:22–23 🔹 Our Position Is in Christ We have been raised and seated together with Christ in heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6 🔹 Our Identity Determines How We Live We cannot continue defining ourselves by the old man, our failures, feelings, circumstances, or the world’s report. 2 Corinthians 5:17 🔹 The Church Carries the Truth Discipleship is continuing in the Word until truth becomes the reality from which we live. John 8:31–32 🔹 The Church Has Kingdom Authority Jesus gave His Church the keys of the Kingdom. What we bind is forbidden; what we loose is permitted and released. Matthew 16:18–19 🔹 The Name of Jesus Carries Authority We do not confront darkness in our own strength. We operate in the authority of His Name. Luke 10:19 🔹 Resurrection Power Lives in the Believer The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us and gives life to our mortal bodies. Romans 8:11 🔹 We Are the Fullness of Christ in the Earth God has placed all things under Christ’s feet and made Him Head over all things to the Church, which is His Body. Ephesians 1:22–23 This series is calling the Church back into Kingdom order, discipleship, unity, spiritual authority, and awareness of our oneness with Christ. We are not waiting to become the Body of Christ. We are His Body now. We are not trying to obtain authority. We have authority in His Name. We are not trying to get God into the earth. Christ is already in us—the hope of glory. It is time for the Church to understand her identity, take her position, and manifest Jesus in the earth.
