The Internet Lied to Me About Soul

#pixar #disney #soul #review #videoessay Have you ever felt some type of way about a piece of media before you even saw it for yourself based on what other people said? Yeah, that was me with Pixar's 2020 movie, Soul. I am sort of ashamed to say it now, but it is true that I avoided seeing this film mostly because of the voices on the internet. One thing I've learned is that sometimes you just have to experience the media for yourself and not listen to other people. You may miss out on a good experience. In this video essay, I'm going to challenge the mainstream thoughts on this movie. I have picked 3 of the biggest and most common criticisms that I came across and will offer a different perspective on each one. Hopefully, I can help to change the minds of people and convince others to not only reconsider their position on the film if they were in the same spot as me, but to also encourage people to go into future productions with more of an open mind. I think Soul is a good movie, and I appreciate what the studios were trying to do.
