Best Dog Beach in Santa Cruz!
Santa Cruz Best Dog Beach! Its Beach is the most popular off-leash spot in the area. Located near the West Cliff Drive Lighthouse (by Steamer Lane), this beach is actually a dedicated dog park with a sandy shoreline where your dog can run free and socialize. When conditions are right you’ll see surfers at Its Beach and the area on the other side of the point called Steamer Lane. On the point inside the lighthouse is the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum. There are several parking lots along West Cliff Drive that have access to the beach via a paved path along the bluff. Just walk toward the center of the beach where there is a long stairwell that takes you down to the sand. Remember to bring doggie poop bags, water +bowl, and a leash. There are waste receptacles at the top of stairway entrance. Also it is important to wash your dog off soon after visiting the beach to remove saltwater and sand.
