Hookipa Maui, conditions were perfect huge surf, off-shore winds. I was driving home from Wailea office, I live in Haiku. I love days like this I had to pull off the road and enjoy the action. It was a expert day only with some of the best windsurfers in the world lighting up the surf. Maui's Northshore is home to world class windsurfers, Jaws chargers, and hot bed of surfing talent, number of them are on the world tour this year. While I have been surfing Hookipa for 50 years, my boys grew up surfing Hookipa, and now my granddaughters are charging the surf, pretty cool. Hookipa is above my pay grade to windsurf, I do enjoy windsurfing at Kanaha Beach right off the airport. You will also find foiling is a new rage in the water these days, and Kite surfing is still very popular. It's a good life on Maui's Northshore, I love morning walks on the beach with my wife and dogs. Northshore is a tight community, people from all over the world.
