Le Mikasa : L'immortel cuirassé japonais

The Mikasa is one of the most iconic warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy. The flagship of Vice Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō, she embodied the stunning and decisive victory over Russia during the Russo-Japanese War (1904-1905), and more specifically during the historic Battle of Tsushima. A symbol of both modernism and Japanese independence, she also reflected the rise of militarism and imperialism that would mark the archipelago in the following decades. Commissioned in March 1902, the Mikasa was the fourth Shikishima-class battleship built. 00:00 Introduction 00:16 Background 03:20 Characteristics 07:17 Career - Russo-Japanese War 13:13 Battle of Tsushima 18:14 World War I and Siberian Intervention 19:58 Conservation Credits: "IJN Itsukushima" (https://skfb.ly/oyUDS) by martyn169 is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b....
