Jarno vs. Wudstik (TVOH) - Cry me a River

Jermain van der Bogt aka 'Wudstik' is good. Dámn good. That much we know. What we didn't anticipate, was for Jarno to be as good as he was. The judges too had to own up to that fact, and had a lot of trouble deciding which was the better choice: left Twix or right Twix for Team Trijntje to enter the Live shows. Trijntje herself decided fairly quickly to take Wudstik on and leave Jarno for the other coaches to pick for their team, and boy: did they ever. They all hit the button like crazy and in the end, Jarno picked Ali B. to be his new coach, because he expected Ali to take him the furthest into the Live shows. So no losers here, just winners ! Congratulations to both of them; Jarno (as of now in Team Ali B.) and Wudstik (still in Team Trijntje) and thanks so much for a hell of a performance. It was versatile and they both got to showcase their talents; juggling their voices. Towards the end of the song beatboxer Jarno showed Wudstik the stuff he's made of (a teeny threat he made whilst preparing for the battles) and Jermain 'Wudstik', tapped right into it and showed some very cool 'Wooden puppet'- Wudstik-moves to end the song in a unique style. Got to say, we're blown away by his performance and personality, what a great sense of humour and last but not least: what a Voice. Might this be... Dat Jarno het hem in de ring nog zó lastig ging maken, zoveel wisten we nog niet. Toch was dit precies het geval en dit bleef ook bij de overige coaches niet onopgemerkt en men had grote moeite een voorkeur, en daarmee een advies naar coach Trijntje, uit te spreken. Trijntje moest echter 'kleur bekennen' en liet haar keuze al vrij snel op Jermain 'Wudstik' vallen. Waardoor ze de overige coaches vrij spel gaf op Jarno en de kans de nieuwe spelregel in praktijk te brengen, namelijk het stelen van andermans kandidaten en wel de kandidaat die niet door zijn of haar coach wordt meegenomen naar de live shows. Coaches Marco, Ali B. en Ilse lieten deze kans niet aan zich voorbij gaan en wisten niet hoe snel, hard en vaak ze op de rode knop moesten drukken om hun voorkeur voor Jarno duidelijk te maken. Met de macht terug in eigen hand, koos Jarno voor Ali B. als de coach die hem wellicht het verst zou kunnen brengen in de live shows. Deze battle kende dus geen verliezers, maar twee winnaars ! Jarno (nu Team Ali B.) en Wudstik (nog steeds Team Trijntje) gefeliciteerd en bedankt voor een geweldig optreden in de ring. Het was een veelzijdig optreden, waarin beide heren alle registers opentrokken, Jarno nog even zijn 'dreigement' jegens Wudstik in de rehearsals waarmaakte (onverwacht te gaan beatboxen) en het nummer van Justin Timberlake al 'beatboksende' afsloot en Wudstik daarop zijn naam eer aandeed door met gestileerde houten bewegingen een marionet voor te stellen. Wát een charisma, wat een humor en wát een optreden.
