Firdaus believes Hotman's legal arguments regarding search procedures are not only unconventional in defense practice, but also a blunder because they put the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in a negative light. Firdaus conveyed this criticism in a post on his personal Instagram account on Saturday (July 18). He emphasized that he completely disagreed with Hotman's arguments and believed his colleague had erred in his understanding of the legal issues being handled by investigators. "Hotman Paris' legal arguments are considered unconventional in defense because they put the Indonesian National Police in a negative light," Firdaus said regarding the defense's move, which he believes actually provided a misleading legal explanation to the public. This debate arose after Hotman Paris accused National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit of failing to seek prior permission from President Prabowo Subianto before naming Febrie Adriansyah a suspect. Hotman made this statement after accompanying Febrie during his questioning at the Attorney General's Office Round Building on Friday evening (July 17, 2026). Hotman defended his client, stating that the corruption allegations were baseless and constituted criminalization. He argued that Febrie was a key figure for President Prabowo in the Forest Area Regulation Task Force (PKH), who had made a significant contribution to saving the state from losses.
