The demonstration also demanded justice for the worker's murder, which occurred almost a year ago. During the event, relatives emphasized that the pain of the loss still remains and reinforced the feeling of insecurity faced by urban cleaning professionals. “The pain is still strong, and so is the insecurity. We need justice so that no other worker goes through this,” said a family member. The family also demanded greater speed in the progress of the legal process and denounced the vulnerability experienced by sanitation workers in the exercise of their profession. Businessman Renê da Silva Nogueira Júnior is in prison awaiting trial for aggravated homicide.
