Property developers are now forced by community leaders to pay for what is termed illegal. For example, properties developer are now asked to pay for verification, roofing fees, fencing fees, borehole fees, and other extortional means. This has caused a drawback in the developmental pace in Edo communities. As a result of this menace, Edo people are now scared to build houses in Edo State as they now find solace in other parts of Nigeria like Lagos and Ogun State.
