Quaranta milioni per rifare la rete irrigua del Trapanese, al via i cantieri
The Sicilian Region is launching a €40 million plan to upgrade the irrigation network in the province of Trapani. The construction site was inaugurated in the Roccolino Soprano district, in the municipality of Mazara del Vallo, in the presence of Regional Councilor for Agriculture, Luca Sammartino. The project involves replacing approximately 20 kilometers of old pipelines with modern PVC pipes, building new control rooms, modernizing systems, and upgrading the main infrastructure connected to the Delia dam. Among the most significant projects are the renovation of the storage tank located at an elevation of 100 meters on the Delia dam and the lifting tank, which will be equipped with two turbines for electricity generation, with the aim of making the system more energy efficient. The project is expected to last a year and a half. Interventions are also planned in the Rubino Dam area, in Paceco, where two sections will be completed to modernize the irrigation network's management and control systems, with the goal of reducing water waste and improving distribution to farms.
