Fixing My Own Building Mistakes - Abandoned Farm Renovation

Early summer is such a beautiful season, everything is blooming at the same time. I wish it would last longer than just a couple of weeks! Working surrounded by the smell of lilacs is such a luxury that it's hard to even try and put a price on that. But what is equally as hard to put a price on is this mudroom floor of ours. In the previous video we got in a pickle, as the grout stuck to the tiles. Well, now I can safely say that it actually can be fixed! Yay! So far all of the problems we have come across and that I've lost a ton of sleep on have turned out to be fixable. I just have to set my perfectionist's goggles aside and look at the results through the lens of a humble novice. When I walk on these floors a few decades later, I hope I remember the younger me who was not afraid to try and fail. The other end of the house is now starting to look like an actual house, while the rest of it still looks like a ruin (see the end of the video). That makes it really visible just how much work it has taken to turn this abandoned house into a home. But also it's a good reminder that even a wreck like this can be saved, it just requires a bit of lunacy. In the next video we'll get to see how the mudroom floor turns out, and hopefully finish the siding on these walls that we've been working on. See you soon again!
