NOSY BE - NOSY KOMBA - PARADISE IN Madagascar (Tamana Hostel & 293 on Komba)

We’ve stayed in some nice places in our lives but nothing compares to the proper accomodation and hospitality of Tamana hostel in Hell-ville and 293 on Komba on Nosy Komba. They always say the real treasure of Madagascar are the people and this can also extend out to the expats. Brooke, Marcelo from Tamana and Marcine from 293 on Komba have done nothing but bend over backwards for us to ensure that we don’t go without and any help they can provide they’ll do ten fold. Let’s mention the settings of these places. Tamana is a haven away from the bustling business of Hell-ville, located right in the centre of the pedestrian and street market hub, it provides a quiet break from life. The rooftop bar is amongst the nicest views I’ve eve seen in my life and then there’s the crispy chicken burger and the fish tacos. I think I’ve eaten my weight in these dishes several times. Even when it was my birthday, they made me a delicious cake and sang me happy birthday. They integrate with the community so well and there’s always something buzzy going on. There’s literally no where else I would stay in Hell-ville and I consider Brooke and Marcelo good friends now. Onto 293 on Komba. Marcine has been an angel in organising our lives for the past few weeks. We’ve dipped in and dipped out of her accomodation and she’s always there waiting with a smile and a delicious plate of food. Based right on the beach, yet elevated enough that the perspective over the island is incredible. The height difference in low and high tide is huge and provides intermittent sounds of waves splashing as you drift off to sleep in some seriously up market rooms. Attention to detail is next level and it’s just a straight up paradise sanctuary. We call this our happy place and I just can’t recommend this place or Marcine’s hospitality enough. Two places that have really cemented our stay in Nosy Be and Nosy Komba and whenever I think back fondly on Madagascar, these places will stand at the front of my mind.
