Time Domain Measurement
Part 6 of the Fabry-Perot lab. We use a photodiode, amplifier, and non-linear mixer to directly detect the beat note between the different laser frequencies. By mixing the high-frequency beat signal with a similar frequency signal that we control, we can generate a difference signal that can be displayed on the oscilloscope.
