Topping tulips with new Fendt 620 Vario | V.O.F. Dogterom

When the tulip bulbs are full in bloom they are beheaded - topped. This is required so the plant can put all it's energy in growing a heavy bulb. The Dutch tulips are grown for their bulbs and not the flower. That happens in a greenhouse, or the bulbs will be exported. Dutch Family Farm V.O.F. Dogterom from Oude-Tonge, in the South West of the country, is using a brand new Fendt 620 Vario and JVS Techniek 2.25m topper in the front linkage. Now the tulips will grow for 2 more months and be harvested in July. Because of the dry conditions, frequent irrigation is needed as can be seen.
