We live in an era of “in between.” The old rules of the Yalta-Potsdam system that held the world together after 1945 have finally stopped working. International law has turned into a declaration, and the security architecture that was supposed to protect the sovereignty of states has turned out to be structurally paralyzed. The world is no longer rebuilding the system — it is patching it up, improvising, and trying to postpone the inevitable. In the second issue of the author’s series “Anatomy of World Chaos,” Ivan Gomza, a professor at the Kyiv School of Economics, and I conduct a deep deconstruction of modernity.
