RÉGIONAL 1 : AS JEANNE D'ARC

EPISODE 11/14 - Continuing our series dedicated to Regional 1 clubs, we stop at AS Jeanne d’Arc, an iconic institution in the seaside town of Le Port. A historic club in the local football scene, the Le Port team continues its rebuilding process after a 2024 season marked by a resounding victory in the Coupe de La Réunion. During the off-season, AS Jeanne d’Arc had to contend with several major changes, particularly within its coaching staff, as well as the departure of several key players. True to its focus on developing young talent, the club nevertheless relies on an ambitious and talented youth system, under the technical guidance of Rudy Payet and Abdou Hassman, who has returned to his boyhood club. The start of the season has not been easy for the Mauves. Between a penalty shootout defeat in the Champions Trophy and three consecutive losses against Saint-Denis FC, AFC Piton Saint-Leu, and La Tamponnaise, the Portois had to quickly find the resources to bounce back. And they did. With a four-match unbeaten run, including three wins, AS Jeanne d’Arc regained their confidence and climbed back into the top half of the table. Sixth, level on points with AS Excelsior, captain Soiyfidine Madi and his teammates now have real ambitions for the rest of the season. Between tradition, youth development, and the desire to return to the top, AS Jeanne d’Arc continues to write its history and confirms its status as a key player in Réunion football.
