Dr. Nausheen Mazhar is a Physical Geographer and a climate change activist. During her academic career she was awarded with 4 Gold medals and Roll of Honours. With a fellowship from the University of Leeds, UK, she has continued her end-user focused research with a particular interest in desert ecosystems, dryland ecology, rural livelihoods, and climate change. Currently Dr. Nausheen is affiliated with the Geography Department in Lahore College for Women University as a faculty member. In her talk, she speaks about the dire condition of the world’s dry lands, both globally and nationally. She emphasizes on changing climate patterns and desertification in Pakistan. Solutions and interventions are urgently needed through Sustainable Land Management.
