Persona vs Pokemon goes hand in hand with it. In this video, I compare and analyze the mechanics of SMT, Persona, and Pokemon to show where their design philosophies align and where they differ. Which one is more of a monster collector and which one is more of a JRPG?... Neither really. My main points of reference will be the mainline Shin Megami Tensei games and mainline Persona games; no spinoffs. Comparisons are applicable to most of the main series Pokemon games, but my main points of reference are the first 4 generations as those are the ones I'm most familiar.
