Title: Exercise No. 3 | Prime Factorization, Common Factors & Common Multiples | Unit 2 | Mathematics Class 4 | Part 5 Subtitle: Complete Exercise Solution on Prime Factorization, Common Factors and Common Multiples Topics Covered: Finding Prime Factors of Given Numbers (Prime Factorization) Finding Common Factors of Two or Three Numbers Finding First Common Multiple of Given Numbers Video Summary: In this video, we solve Exercise No. 3 of Unit 2 (Factors and Multiples), covering three key topics: Prime Factorization, Common Factors, and Common Multiples. We begin with Prime Factorization of ten numbers (17, 21, 34, 18, 44, 33, 4, 14, 48, 39). Prime factorization means breaking down a number into its prime factors only - factors that are prime numbers (having exactly two factors: 1 and the number itself). For each number, we use divisibility rules to divide by the smallest prime factor (2, 3, etc.) and continue until we reach 1. Next, we find Common Factors of given numbers. We list all factors of each number individually, then identify the factors that appear in all the given numbers. Examples include 6 and 18 (common factors: 1, 2, 3, 6), 10 and 20 (1, 2, 5, 10), 24, 32 and 18 (1, 2), 14 and 30 (1, 2), 7, 21 and 28 (1, 7), 20, 25 and 15 (1, 5), 4 and 8 (1, 2, 4), 13 and 39 (1, 13), and 5, 30 and 12 (1 only). Finally, we find the First Common Multiple of given numbers. We list multiples of each number (starting from 1 × the number) until we find the smallest multiple that appears in all lists. We practice with different methods: using memorized tables, using a table book, or writing tables manually. Examples include 3 and 5 (first common multiple: 15), 9 and 12 (36), 10, 20 and 30 (60), 12 and 22 (132), 8, 4 and 16 (16), 51, 17 and 34 (102), 7 and 14 (28), 6 and 15 (30), and 2, 5 and 10 (10).
