Western Cape Seasonal Fires | R10m to extinguish 75 fires in 7 days
An estimated ten million rand was spent by Western Cape disaster management to extinguish 75 fires over December and January. Authorities say while the amount was accounted for in just seven days, causes ranged from accidental to deliberate fires.
