もはや雑草　キクイモの繁殖力がヤバすぎる

A single Jerusalem artichoke I planted when I was in middle school has proliferated all over my property. Back then, I had little knowledge of invasive species or even biology in general, and I planted it casually thinking, "It's delicious and supposedly good for you." It grows endlessly... I don't recommend planting it directly in the ground. I cut it back after it flowers and dig up the tubers in winter and spring, but even without fertilizer, the same amount grows every year. It hasn't spread to other areas yet and is concentrated in one spot, but the area it's spreading to is expanding year by year, so starting this year, I'll be seriously pulling them up by the roots to suppress their growth in the areas where they've spread. However, I think Jerusalem artichokes are a very delicious and wonderful food. If I could cultivate them in isolation, I think their incredible reproductive power could help combat food shortages. This time, I made Jerusalem artichoke croquettes, simmered Jerusalem artichokes, chips, miso soup, and salad, and enjoyed them very much.
