"A Place We Call Home" (Dance Workout) by Bukit Timah Primary School

“A Place We Call Home” is an original song composed by Goh Soo Yih Elliot, an alumnus of Bukit Timah Primary School (BTPS) who is currently studying at School Of The Arts (SOTA). During the recent HBL in July, Mdm Durgadevi and Mrs Lynette Lim created a SLS package that infused Social Studies and Music for the Primary 3 pupils to learn simple song-writing skills that focus on what Singapore means to them. The ideas and lyrics of the song “A Place We Call Home” were then put together by Mrs Lynette Lim and the vocal arranger, Ms Lisa Haryono. In this song, you will get to experience a child’s perspective of life in Singapore, depicting a sense of hope and a sense of belonging. In this new normal, despite our busy schedule or hectic lifestyle, we would like to encourage everyone to be engaged in simple workout movements that were choreographed to give our pupils and teachers little breaks and keep us going. Hence, we hope that this upbeat and lively song inspires fellow Singaporeans to continue to look at things positively and keep our minds and bodies fit and healthy. This song is the school's gift to our nation on her 56th birthday!
