Warten auf den Notruf - Aus dem Alltag eines Berliner Feuerwehrmanns (1985)

An authentic report on the work of a Berlin firefighter, because in 1985 cameras were still allowed to accompany firefighters on real calls and film those involved without inhibition. The film explores how one becomes a firefighter, what makes the job so demanding, and how one copes with traumatic experiences. The firefighters are very open with the camera. The term "post-traumatic stress disorder" didn't exist yet, but a strict ban on alcohol while on duty certainly did. A report by Norbert Scherdin.
