I finally harvested some shiitake mushrooms! The ones with overly open caps were marinated, but they looked and tasted like abalone! I also visited a cluster of Mitsumata plants, said to herald the arrival of spring in the countryside. I received a rechargeable pruning shear as part of a company project, and used it to prune blueberries. It easily cut thick branches, making the pruning much more efficient. The countryside is blessed with abundant nature, and spring through autumn are wonderful seasons. This village is home to a variety of wild vegetables and nuts. I've lived in this depopulated village deep in the mountains at an altitude of 800m for many years now, but I still discover new nuts and wild vegetables.
