From checking supermarket prices on our first day to walking around cautiously because of safety concerns, we started our backpacker life in Cape Town 🍝 Then came the sightseeing adventures! ・23-hour long-distance bus ride (around $55) ・Arriving in Cape Town & checking local prices (McDonald’s and supermarkets) ・Cooking our own meals as backpacker travelers ・Winter in the Southern Hemisphere — Africa was much colder than expected ・Scenic drive to the Cape of Good Hope & Cape Point ・Penguins in Africa!? Visiting Boulders Beach ・Table Mountain cable car experience (360° rotating gondola) ・Exploring the summit of Table Mountain, one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature ・The reality of safety concerns and tips for walking around the city The journey was tough, and safety required constant attention. But the scale of the scenery in South Africa was absolutely incredible.
