Walk Through Elephant Valley | San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Join me for a relaxing walk through Elephant Valley at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park—an experience that feels much more open and natural than a traditional zoo visit. We begin with the remarkable sight of an elephant rolling in the mud before walking into Elephant Valley to watch the herd play, explore and cool themselves. From there, we continue downhill past the Roar and Snore tents, pause at the expansive African Plains, encounter woodpeckers and three lionesses, and watch the Safari Park’s tethered balloon return to the ground. The journey concludes with a peaceful Africa Tram ride among giraffes, gazelles and antelope, followed by a stop at Mkutano restaurant overlooking the elephants.
