91-92 NJ Devils Season Fight Comp

91-92 was a welcome changing of the guard in Jerz with the additions of Randy McKay and Scott Stevens. What's crazy is both of these players were added through compensation for other teams signing Devils free agents. Randy McKay & Dave Barr were both sent to Jerz as compensation for Troy Crowder signing with the Detroit Red Wings. More notably, Scott Stevens was added as compensation for Shanahan signing in St. Louis. In a Lou masterclass, the Blues originally offered Brind'Amour, Curtis Joesph and picks, but Lou refused and an arbitrator awarded the Devils Scott Stevens. With McKay, Lou originally wanted Probert as compensation, but was awarded McKay and Barr instead. Randy McKay went on to be part of the famous "crash line" and scored 8 big goals in the Devils run to the 95 Stanley Cup. Without these 2 additions, the Devils would not have won 3 cups.
