Manipur: 3 Villagers Allegedly Ambushed By Kuki Militants While Repairing Water Supply Line Fresh tensions have emerged in Manipur's Kangpokpi district following an alleged armed ambush at Konsakhul Naga Village on May 31, 2026. The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when three local villagers went up to inspect and repair a vital community water pipeline that had been deliberately cut. One person was injured. According to village authority, they were ambushed without provocation by heavily armed individuals. While one villager was seriously injured and is receiving medical care, the other two were briefly lost in the jungle before navigating back to safety. The Konsakhul Village Authority strongly condemned the "barbaric" attack, placing the blame on KNF(P) (Kuki National Front-Presidential) militants and neighbors from Leilon Vaiphei.
