The tubular terminal or eyelet is part insulated and the other part conductive. The material used in the insulating part is flame retardant Nylon, while the material used in the conductive part is electrolytic copper, the same material as the cables, which allows this small component to work with a temperature range between -55ºC and +105ºC. We found 3 different types of insulated eyelet terminals, in different "gauges": The simple terminal, which is this one here, can be found from 0.5 to 150mm². The long terminal, which is the longest one here, can be found from 0.5 to 35 mm². And the double terminal, which is this “little guy”, is thicker, can be found from 0.5 mm to 16 mm². In the past, I used to crimp the terminals with the cutting part of the universal pliers, squeezing very lightly so as not to run the risk of cutting them. Some manufacturers even sell the universal pliers with a part designed for crimping terminals, but it still doesn’t provide the compression that is suitable for tubular terminals. Other pre-insulated terminals can pass through, but the eyelet terminal (tubular) can’t pass through. We can certainly do a safer crimping. The pliers suitable for this terminal are: CR-21A (from 0.5 to 6mm²) CR-21B (from 0.5 to 6mm²) CR-22 (6 to 16MM²), CR-34 (10 to 50MM²), CR-35 (50 to 95MM²), Watch the video for all the details on correct compression.
