My name is Kathryn Layne! Being the youngest of three girls meant there were always different CD's playing at the same time from three different bedrooms. I was introduced to all sorts of different music, but I gravitated towards jazz, blues and world music. I would listen to the "Woman On Top" soundtrack on repeat, or Seal's first album released in 1991 while I would ride my bike in a continuous loop. I never found myself getting in to the "Top Hits" or any other genre other than what I knew I enjoyed. Which means there is SO MUCH to catch up on!! I realized how much more out of the song I got when my husband would have me sit, stop, and focus on a particular song he enjoyed. Being a busy mom, this blew my mind with how I was able to really feel and experience new music. Without the distractions I finally felt the art that is unique to every single song. I absolutely love music and I can't wait to really take a moment to focus on new songs that I have never heard before.
