We spent 22 days in the beautiful city of Pelotas and in this video we show you what to do in this city that surprised us a lot. We left São Miguel das Missões and drove just over 550km until we arrived in Pelotas, where at first we wouldn't stay long, that's until we realized there was a lot to do in the city. The history of Pelotas is closely linked to beef jerky, however today the star is certainly the sweets. Pelotas is known worldwide for its sweets and this is a serious matter in the city, so much so that it is the stage for fenadoce (National Sweet Capital). This will certainly be in any script about what to do in Pelotas. Around Praça General Osório in the center of Pelotas are several historic buildings that are currently listed and are a good choice for what to do in the city. Close by is the central market with decoration imported from Europe, the hairy Church and the São Francisco de Paula Metropolitan Cathedral, this one a little further away, but which yields something to do. Leaving the historic center of Pelotas, we went to Praia do Laranjal to stroll along the shore and walk on the pier that is in Lagoa (Laguna) dos Patos, another place that also yields things to do in Pelotas. If your itinerary starts in the morning, like ours, a suggestion about what to do in Pelotas is to have breakfast at Café Aquárius, a famous spot in the city.
