He has been surrounded by animals ever since he moved to Europe. He entered a new world, very different from the Eastern world, and experienced a feeling of loneliness and emotional aridity. He felt the need to surround himself with animals. Omar Sharif explains the pleasure of the affection animals give him. Omar Sharif meets a friend at a horse sale. He explains that he continues to work to buy horses. He believes that the horse is a very noble animal; he loves their shape, their movements, and their temperament. He then recounts his love for a filly, Pink Pearl. She was pigeon-toed, very beautiful, very feminine, and turned out to be a very good racehorse. After her racing career, she only produced winners with Pearl in their name. Horses named "Pearl" represent her family.
