The North Face Altamesa 500 V2 Shoe Review - Lighter and Better Grip

The updated The North Face Altamesa 500 V2 Shoe features a lighter build (about 1 1/2 ounces lighter on mens 11.5), improved traction, and a fantastic out-of-the-box feel. I literally took them out of the box and walked out our door to a local hiking trail with ease. I also used these as an everyday shoe - wearing them all day while coaching at our gym - then on a few-mile hike on a lunch break - back to coaching in them, then going out to eat. The Dream foam is cushy but not too soft. The wider base underfoot gives more stability. I forgot to mention in the video that these shoes are a little roomy in the foot. Great if you have medium-to-wide feet, but those with narrow feet will need to cinch down to get a secure fit.
