Heart attack, NHS and catch up. We had an awesome Halloween party, which was so much fun. Sadly my mum wasn't well enough to come and obviously I was gutted as she comes to everything we do. She wasn't well on Friday during the day and wouldn't go to A&E, as she had been to the Doctors the day before with chest pains. She took a turn on Friday evening after we had called round and after following the ambulance to hospital and blood tests, we found she had had a minor heart attack. It took over 6 hours to get a bed. The staff at the hospital have been great, but terribly over worked and under staffed. My mum now has a bed, but with no staff in to do an angiogram until Monday, it is a waiting game. That bed is needed by my mum, but for two days with no staff to carry out the correct tests it is two days that... 1. She really needs treatment straight away. 2. What if someone else has heart attack and needs that bed to? It's being held up for an extra two days, that doesn't need to be. People don't fall I'll Monday to Friday 9 till 5.
