crossing Mara river Serengeti October 2021
The Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti is absolutely unique to watch. Each year, more than 2 million wildebeest and zebras migrate from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara and back again following the rains in search of fresh grazing. The crossing of the Mara River is the absolute highlight or difficulty for the animals. This crossing is a spectacle full of crocodile danger, drowning and perseverance. It is one of the highlights of wild Africa.
