PRAGUE to the BALTIC by Night Train: The Baltic Express

Tonight I board the Baltic Express night train in Prague for a journey of more than 820 km across Central Europe to Gdynia on Poland’s Baltic coast. This relatively new service, launched in December 2024, connects the Czech capital with major Polish cities such as Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk and Gdynia, offering both day and overnight trains operated jointly by České dráhy (ČD) and PKP Intercity. For this trip I travel in a single sleeper compartment, crossing the Czech–Polish border during the night and waking up on the shores of the Baltic Sea. But this journey also raises an interesting question: does the schedule of this night train really make sense when it arrives at 5:30 in the morning?
