Is the school system capable of understanding that knowledge isn't meant to be stored away in the freezer of memory? Is it possible to connect it with students' life projects? Pepe Menéndez is one of the driving forces behind the educational spring taking place in Catalonia, and he shares his perspective on these questions. Pepe is a member of the management team of the Jesuit Education Foundation of Catalonia (Spain) and a driving force behind the educational transformation project "Horitzó 2020." He is a literature professor, journalist, and expert in Vocational Training. He directed the Joan XXIII Study Center – Jesuits Bellvitge and the Ituarte Technology Center (CETEI – Jesuits Education), an experimental center for techno-pedagogical innovation. He was heavily involved in drafting the education law in Catalonia. And he is Catalan, in case that wasn't clear.
