Congresista Carlos Giménez: Cuba, drones iraníes y amenaza comunista en EE.UU.

Cuban-American Congressman Carlos Giménez warned that the Castro regime possesses approximately 300 Iranian drones capable of reaching U.S. territory, during a conversation with Alexander Otaola broadcast in July 2026. This accusation once again places Cuba at the center of the debate on hemispheric security. According to the congressman, these drones have a range of up to 2,500 kilometers from their launch point, which would directly threaten cities like New York and even the Panama Canal. Giménez maintained that the island, with its Chinese and Russian bases, has moved from espionage to a real offensive capability against the United States. The exchange led to an intense debate about the infiltration of communism into American universities, the First Amendment, and Otaola's proposal to treat communist ideology as a crime comparable to Nazism. The two disagreed on the limits of freedom of expression in the face of totalitarian movements. The congressman also addressed Venezuela, the figure of María Corina Machado, the pressure on Delcy Rodríguez and Diosdado Cabello, and a possible transition plan for Cuba based on reconstruction commissions.
