The Eurostar Revolution: The Train That Flies Beneath the Sea - Full Documentary
🚄 For 30 years, Eurostar has revolutionized travel, zipping passengers beneath the sea and across borders, connecting Europe like never before! 🌍✨ The Eurostar... For 30 years this unique train line has zipped passengers between Paris and London in just 2 hours 15 minutes. Carrying 10 million riders every year, this European link had been dreamed about for centuries, but became reality in 1994, thanks to the Channel Tunnel. It took 6 years of exceptional construction work to create the world's longest underwater structure: a 50-kilometre tunnel, 75 metres below the surface. But with the new tunnel came new challenges. To operate through the tunnel, the Eurostar must meet its strict power, temperature, and safety constraints while also adhering to the regulations of each national rail network the train travels through. Border zones had to be set up within historic train stations. But nothing can stop Eurostar’s progress. Over the years, the network has expanded from the UK, France and Belgium, to the Netherlands and Germany, making Eurostar Europe's leading rail network. Come aboard the Eurostar and see what it takes to build and operate an international rail line that traverses the complex Channel Tunnel. Accompanied by on-board staff, engineers, technicians, and Eurostar's Managing Director, we’ll take you behind the scenes of this extraordinary railway network.
