Big Wave Windsurfing & Kitesurfing in Tahiti

Big wave surfing involves seasoned surfers taking on gigantic waves starting from about 6 metres in height. The thrill lies in dominating these behemoths but if you fail you´re facing an Olympic sized swimming pool full of water crashing down on you and pushing you down 6 to 15 metres below the surface for what seems an eternity. If you fly over French Polynesia you will come across a jewel of the South Pacific Ocean -- Tahiti, with it's 180 islands towering over the ocean like a royal Queen, crowned by a circle of majestic peaks. Mother natures Teahupo'o opens it's gates to lots of surf adventurers but there is no place in the world where so many different sports get along on such an intense wave.
